Sometimes, it's 1 search results sandwiched in between 2 ads which makes the user miss it because they scrolled past the ads.

Principle

Match between system and user expectations

People report that searching for an exact app name returns a sponsored listing for a different app first, styled like a regular result and taking up much of the screen, so the top item is not what they asked for and some install the wrong app.

A fix

When a query exactly matches an app name, show that app as the first result above any sponsored listing. Mark ads with a distinct background, border and clear "Ad" label, and limit their height so the organic match stays visible without scrolling.
