People report that Nix's terminology, language patterns and CLI commands follow its own internal concepts rather than ones newcomers already know, so the overlapping names Nix and NixOS and commands that feel unlike 'brew install' have to be decoded from man pages before anything works.

Use one name per concept across CLI help, error messages and docs, with a short glossary that states how Nix, NixOS and Nixpkgs relate.
